E&I Technical Officer (Cement Plant)
Job Description
Power Cement is seeking a qualified and experienced E&I Technical Officer to join our team at the cement plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation equipment to ensure optimal plant operations. This role requires hands-on expertise in control systems, safety protocols, and equipment calibration.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Preventive Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance activities on plant equipment in accordance with preventive maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and repair control devices such as switches, sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, and transmitters as needed.
- Test Equipment Usage: Utilize control and tuning modules, PC-based software Analyzer, data Analyzer, logic test equipment, analog and digital multimeters, IR testing devices, and other relevant tools to perform tests, identify problems, and maintain equipment to performance standards.
- Installation and transformation:of plant instrumentation and control equipment are carried out under the supervision of the I&C engineer.
- Programming Knowledge: Understand and execute minor programming tasks for various cement plant control systems, frequency drives, and other electrical equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Actively participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programs, ensuring adherence to both government and company safety standards.
Education and Work Experience
- Qualification: Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation.
- Expertise: A minimum of eight years of relevant work experience in the cement industry, as proven by a Trade Test.
Required Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of phase testers, multimeters, meggers, and other testing equipment.
- PLC Expertise: Proficient in PLC control wiring and instrument loop testing.
- Specialized Knowledge: Experience with Ventomatic Packer and Haver & Boecker Packers machines is an advantage.
- Circuit Skills: Skilled in motor power termination and control circuit troubleshooting.
- Interpretation: Being capable to read and understand technical documents and drawings.
- Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
