Team Leader – E&I

2. Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to join our Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) team at the Ghotki Plant (IPP). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Independent Power Producer (IPP) sector, particularly in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) and Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) environments.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct the engineers, technicians, and support personnel that make up the E&I team.
• Communicate with NEPRA, NTDC, CPPA, TSG, RCC, and NPCC on technical issues.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of all E&I systems, including schematics, manuals, and procedures.
• Plan and monitor maintenance activities, including both planned and unplanned shutdowns.
• Communicate effectively with plant management and other stakeholders regarding E&I matters.
• Troubleshoot low, medium, and high voltage switchgear, SCADA, field instrumentation, steam turbine generators, and variable frequency drives, including incident investigation and RCA reporting.
• Organize the protection of the power network, relay testing, transformer, motor, and generator testing, as well as power system fault analysis.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, reliability, and asset management of the plant’s E&I equipment.
• Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance maintenance quality and plant efficiency.
• Lead the E&I team in emergency responses, ensuring swift and effective resolution of electrical and instrumentation issues.
• Ensure the cyber security of IT and OT equipment of the grid and Independent Power Plant.
• Review logbooks critically, ascertain operating parameter trends, and develop preventive and O&M strategies for equipment showing abnormal trends.
• Communicate with third-party service providers and OEM representatives on E&I matters.

4. Requirements

• Qualification: BSc. in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
• Experience: Eight to ten years in the CHP and CCPP IPPs.
• Additional Experience: Experience with Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance at a management level on solid fuel-based CHP will be given high priority.
